Abraham Lincoln Honored in The Villages
Visitflorida.org has gifted a bronze statue to The Villages as a part of America’s 250th celebration. Chosen for its accessibility and the community that exemplifies the American lifestyle, The Villages is now home to this all new monument, celebrating a beloved president.
The Installation
The installation of the Abraham Lincoln statue features the 16th president of the United States tipping his iconic stove-pipe hat to passerby and holding an engraved copy of the Emancipation Proclamation. Known as one of the greatest orators in American history, Lincoln’s dedication to a unified America where all citizens could enjoy dignity and freedom has become one of his greatest legacies.
The Celebration
This gleaming, life-sized statue was installed as part of Florida’s celebration of America 250 – the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence. As Villagers across our community celebrate the Fourth of July with their neighbors, families, and friends, we here at The Villages want to extend a happy Fourth of July to you and your loved ones!
