Exciting progress is happening at The Villages newest recreation location. Blanchard Recreation is entering its final stages of construction, and the inside is now seeing several memorable finishing touches come to life—and bringing a sense of wonder and imagination into the space.
A Design Feature That Brings Out the Kid in You
For many of us, balloons bring back fond childhood memories and a timeless sense of wonder. That same feeling is at the heart of Blanchard Recreation’s newest design feature: a large hot air balloon installation that was recently added inside the facility.
Created in partnership with Cameron Balloons, this one-of-a-kind focal point reflects the center’s ballooning-inspired theme and adds a bright, colorful touch to the space. The result is a welcoming environment that reminds us recreation is about more than staying active — it’s also about the simple joy of play.
With whimsical patterns and cheerful details throughout, Blanchard Recreation is designed to bring a little extra fun, personality, and adventure to every visit.
Honoring the Pioneers of Ballooning Through Design
Blanchard Recreation’s hot-air balloon theme carries throughout the facility, with colorful design touches in each space. As a special nod to the history of hot-air balloon travel, each room is named after pioneers of ballooning from different eras of flight and exploration.
Every thoughtful detail helps create a recreation center that feels distinctive to The Villages, adding personality, a touch of whimsy, and a sense of fun for Villagers to enjoy.
Coming Soon: Community Spaces and Amenities
Once open, Blanchard Recreation will serve several Villages in the Eastport area and plans to offer a wide variety of ways to gather, play, and stay active with friends and neighbors.
Inside, you’ll find spaces designed for everything from creative classes and casual games to friendly competition. Spend an afternoon doing arts & crafts, meet up with friends for billiards, or enjoy outdoor favorites like bocce and shuffleboard. For those looking to stay active, the center will also feature courts for pickleball and tennis, along with welcoming gathering spaces to relax and enjoy good company.
Whether you’re stopping by for a game, a class, or a relaxing afternoon, Blanchard Recreation will offer something for everyone to enjoy.
