Relive the Action of the 2026 Senior Games
The 2026 Senior Games brought together athletes from across the country and here in The Villages for ten days of friendly competition and connection. From the opening ceremony to the final events, this year’s Games showcased skill, sportsmanship, and community spirit.
For more than twenty years, The Villages has hosted a qualifier for the Florida Senior Games, welcoming competitors to go for the gold.
A Strong Start at the Celebration of Athletes
The games began with the Celebration of Athletes at Olympia Recreation in Eastport, where over 2,400 contenders gathered to kick off the competition. A ceremonial torch lighting marked the official start, as friends and neighbors came together to share in the excitement and recognize the dedication it takes to compete–setting the stage for the competition to follow.
In the Spirit of the Games
Throughout the games, athletes competed across a wide range of sporting events, from court play to endurance events, each bringing their own passion and determination.
Events included a mix of:
- Racket Sports: Pickleball, Tennis, Table Tennis
- Precision Sports: Archery, Billiards, Air Gun
- Classic Games: Golf, Bowling, Shuffleboard, Bocce
- Endurance Sports: Swimming, Track and Field
- Team Sports: Basketball, Volleyball, Sand Volleyball
The competition and camaraderie carried beyond the Games as friends cheered from the sidelines and neighbors supported neighbors, bringing the community together.
