Building Homes for Heroes Gifting Ceremony
Building Homes for Heroes has been providing custom-built, mortgage-free homes for injured U.S. Veterans since 2006. Recently, two recipients of this program – Army Sergeant James Tabares and Army Specialist Rajae Jones – and their families were gifted their new homes in the Building Homes for Heroes Gifting Ceremony. These homes were built by local high school students as a part of The Villages Construction Management Academy at The Villages Charter School.
Changing Lives for Two Military Families
After the community came together to write Notes of Love on the foundation of the home, the Gifting Ceremony was an emotional moment for the Tabares and Jones families. As they walked through their homes for the first time, each family experienced more than just a new space – they stepped into stability, comfort, and a renewed sense of future.
Made Possible by Friends and Neighbors
Honoring Tabares and Jones was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Building Homes for Heroes program, as well as the combined efforts of The Villages construction partners and the Construction Management Academy at The Villages Charter School. Together, their hard work helped transform gratitude into action, providing two families with a place to build lasting memories.
