College Colors Day: Unite for a Cause!
On August 30th, Spanish Springs Town Square will be full of school colors as The Villages Daily Sun hosts College Colors Day! This annual event is all about showing off your alma mater’s pride—but more importantly it’s a day dedicated to raising funds for local food pantries and kicking off the college football season in style.
Cheer, Compete, Contribute
This year’s event brings a friendly competitive edge, with trophies awarded for the best dressed, most school spirit, and top donations. Whether you’re a Gator, a Seminole, or from schools across the country, there’s a spot for you to shine. Clubs across The Villages have been rallying support for weeks and, on this special day, they’ll bring their final donations to the square.
Three Easy Ways to Donate
Giving back is easy! Whether you donate online, scan the QR code on your phone from The Villages Daily Sun, or visit Citizens First Bank, every contribution makes a difference. Funds raised will benefit local food pantries, including Wildwood Soup Kitchen, Wildwood Food Pantry, Lady Lake Christian Food Pantry, and Beyond the Walls Food Pantry.
Join the Celebration
From 6 PM to 8 PM, Spanish Springs will be alive with the sounds of cheering, music, and community spirit. Scooter the DJ will keep the energy high, and don’t miss the annual group photo at 7 PM. It’s a night of fun, friendship, and giving back, wrapped up in the excitement of college football.
A Tradition of Giving
Since 2012, College Colors Day has been a celebration of community and generosity in The Villages. So, wear your college gear and be part of a tradition that embodies the spirit of giving and camaraderie.
