A beloved tradition returns to The Villages this August as College Colors Day brings residents together for an afternoon of school pride, football festivities, and heartwarming community giving. Since 2012, this event has been a celebration of camaraderie—and a meaningful way to support local families in need.
Hosted at Lake Sumter Landing Market Square on Friday, August 29, from 2 PM to 8 PM, this year’s celebration invites you to proudly wear your alma mater’s colors and join neighbors for a spirited afternoon of tailgating, connection, and fun.
School Spirit Meets Community Heart
Whether you cheer for a big university or a small hometown college, College Colors Day is your chance to celebrate what makes your school special. Mingle with fellow alumni, enjoy a little lighthearted rivalry, and soak up the electric atmosphere as we kick off football season together.
Give Back While You Gear Up
More than just a celebration, College Colors Day is also an opportunity to give back. We encourage you to participate in our annual community food drive, with all donations benefiting local food pantries including:
- The Wildwood Soup Kitchen
- The Wildwood Food Pantry
- Lady Lake Christian Food Pantry
- Beyond the Walls Food Pantry

You can make your contribution to this worthy cause starting August 18 until August 28 by:
