Brownwood Bridge

Wherever you are in The Villages, at home, the neighborhood recreation centers or the town square, next year you’ll be able to get there by golf car thanks to a network of bridges and tunnels under construction.

The Brownwood Bridge lit up the night when it was moved to its permanent location near Brownwood Paddock Square in August. There’s so much more to come! The four towers supporting the bridge are nearing completion and ramps and roads are under construction for access to the Brownwood Bridge. “It’s exciting to have the Brownwood Bridge in its final position,” said Brian Sellers of The Villages Commercial Property Management team. “The next phases will be completing the final towers, pouring the concrete and building the access roads to the bridge.” He said construction continues on two additional structures, the Water Lilly Bridge that will span the Florida Turnpike and the Chitty Chatty Bridge across SR 44 near Rohan Recreation Center.

When all of the bridges are complete next year, Villagers will be able to travel by golf car from the northern most boundary of The Villages, south across the Florida Turnpike to all of the fun, food, friends, recreation and shopping coming in the newest areas of The Villages.
