Meet The Villages New Dragon Boat at Eastport’s Central Lake

Here we are today building actually the finest dragon boat in the world. This is the first boat that the recreation department will have, the first dragon boat rather that we will have [music] in our fleet. Pan-American Dragon Boat, we are a essentially a very niche business. Anything and everything to do with dragon boat, we basically do it and we do it right here out of Wildwood, Florida. And over my 30 years in the business, I’ve sold many, many boats. But this was a particularly exciting and interesting one for me because I live in the villages, play in the villages, and I do business in the villages. And now I get to produce a boat for the villages. It’s exciting to just get an understanding of the process of how the boat was built and what goes into the details of these [music] boats and um the finite uh engineering that is involved with them. things like the paddler benches, the uh inspection port covers. [music] We’ve got the uh drummer seat install, all kinds of little bits and pieces. There’s some drilling and grinding and installation of spades for the [music] head and tail, mounting the head and tail. Obviously, I’m going to build a lot more boats, but I don’t think they’re going to have quite the feel of this one. This one is really special.
