Mustang Recreation Center: The Design Behind This New Recreation Center

[music] So, we have a new rec center in development. It [music] is just south of Eastport on Marshburn Trail and its name is Mustang. With that name, it is themed with wild horses. So, the theme Mustang came about when we sit around the workroom and try to come up with new ideas that we haven’t done before. [music] Um, but we know that there are wild horses up in, you know, outside of Gainesville [music] and they’re just beautiful animals. Uh, so it was on our list and we thought the next [music] one could do this. I’m most excited about the lobby. It It’s going to look like [music] a modern barn with steel beams and uh, wood walls, floor to ceiling. We really wanted something neutral and modern, and so [music] we kind of stuck with the browns and the blacks. And then we also found some cool wallpaper. Yeah, we did some online research and [music] found some neutral pallet uh waffle wild horses. And this rec center is a village wreck kind of like we just did Sanrope or the video you guys just saw in Blanchard. [music] So when you first pull up to the building, you’ll notice the exterior looks like that of a barn. [music] And then we found some wallpapers that look like um hay or grass and we also use lots of wood elements. One of the design features we’re really excited about is we’re going to do a custom [music] mural in the large meeting room and that’ll be a wild horses. Once we come up with the theme, um it becomes really fun to do research and find products like horse wallpaper to go with the theme or the dog [music] tile that we did at Saluki and Blanchard was so much fun and colorful with the hot air balloons. So, the vibe of this rec center is different than the ones we’ve done in the past couple years. We did go a little darker. um more modern. Uh so [music] we hope that when you walk inside, you step in into a barn and you feel like you are in the country with these horses. So the site has begun to go vertical, [music] which means it’s only a matter of time that we’ll be in there with our finishing touches sometime this fall. So after Mustang, we’re not done. Uh not far from Mustang is another village rec center called Pullman. So Pullman was a diner car. Uh, so the theme of it is trains. So we’re pretty excited about that one. It’s going to be a little more traditional inside with the reds and the greens and the golds. So we’re going to have the uh lobby will look like like the car like there’ll be seats with the dining table like a you would on a train. So then following Pullman will be our next village wreck which will be rock and roll. And the theme speaks for itself. It’ll be coming up soon. We hope you really enjoy it.
