De La Vista

Golfers of all levels should enjoy playing at De La Vista. The open terrain allows for errors off the tee, with easier recovery, and a pair of par four holes to let the shaft out a bit. A round from the forward marker is a nice test for the novice golfer.

Churchill Greens

This course will challenge the shot-making skills of its golfers who may find themselves pulling out an extra club or two on most tee shots. Much care was taken to preserve the natural terrain; several “grandfather” oaks were retained. Golfers will also be treated to vistas of relaxing country settings that have been in place for a hundred years.

Chula Vista

Chula Vista is one of the original executive courses in The Villages. It features one hole with a carry over water for a bit of challenge, but is very friendly to the novice player. Smaller greens and a few bunkers call for precision on the approach, and will make errant shots tough pars.

Briarwood

Built on the rolling pastures of Marion County, this course is a treat with big oaks and scenic vistas. Plenty of healthy carries present a serious challenge to the novice golfer. Most holes, from the back tee placement, require a wood or long iron. Large, sloping greens make putting a premium.

Bonita Pass

Bonita Pass is full of spectacular views. A majority of the holes provide elevated tee shots to the green, giving the golfer a slight advantage. The course flows much like a figure eight, as golfers will travel across the same bridge twice heading to the fourth and eighth holes. There are some difficult holes, depending on which tees you play from. Everyone should get off to a good start on the first hole, as it is the shortest on the course with fewer obstacles and may be your best chance for a hole in one.

Bogart

Golfers experiencing this course will either be begging for more or for mercy as “Bogie” tips his fedora and winks at the end of their round. Straight shots will be rewarded here more than the long hitter. Even on the lone par 4 hole, precise placement of the tee shot will reign over a long ball in one of the strategically placed bunkers. Once the visual intimidation is conquered, the course can be tamed. Here’s looking at you, kid.

Belmont

A search for the ultimate challenge on our Executive Golf Trail ends at Belmont. From the very first hole golfers are met with shots that dare a player to shoot for the flag with little room for error. Though navigable from the forward tee markers, a round from the back placement will challenge any golfer. Where each shot is a test, the southern setting of pastures and wildflowers will fulfill the golfers dream, the southern setting of pastures and wildflowers will.

Bacall

If it’s possible to fall in love with a golf course at “hello”, it’s Bacall. Beginning and ending with par-4s, the beauty will make concentration on the game difficult. To finish with a low score, it is advisable to take advantage of the birdie chances early as par on the last four holes will be a real challenge. With more room for errant shots, the over-all nature of forgiveness will make this course enjoyable for all.

Amberwood

Typical of true native Florida, with large oak trees and beautiful grasslands, be ready for a challenge from the back tees with some holes requiring a long iron or wood. The sixth hole is a beautiful par four along the marsh preserve with three very tough holes following to finish.

Tierra Del Sol

One of the most challenging 18 holes in The Villages, this course plays to over 6800 yards. This course hosted the Samsung World Championship of Women’s Golf, featuring the top 16 women golfers in the world, and the $1-million Villages Charity Challenge Tournament featuring LPGA tour players including Nancy Lopez, Julie Inkster, Helen Alfredson, Mi Hyun Kim, Betsy King and Brandie Burton.

The front nine is long and well-bunkered with very few trees. The back nine was designed to preserve the natural beauty and wildlife of the nature preserves that come into play on eight holes. Majestic oak trees line five holes. Large bunkers and large, well-contoured greens add a finishing touch to this course.

Four sets of tees make this course playable and enjoyable for all skill levels.
