The SigPro Studio Now Open at Lake Sumter Landing
Significant Productions has officially opened The SigPro Studio in The Villages. At this newly reimagined location, this new theater has an expanded 200-seat capacity while preserving the intimate experience of a small theater, ensuring that you get the best seat in the house – wherever you sit!
A Celebration of the Arts
Significant Productions was founded in late 2022 by Whitney Morse and Jason Goedken. With extensive experience in theater, both founders are dedicated to bringing the performing arts to The Villages, having operated The Sharon L. Morse Center for Performing Arts prior to opening The SigPro Studio.
Upcoming Productions
From early-2026 through mid-2027, guests visiting The SigPro Studio will be able to see a selection of unique productions that are curated by the theater’s director to bring stories of hope, community, and togetherness to The Villages.
Season 10’s Productions
- Only Some of God’s Children or Mississippi Magnolias (April 10th – May 9th, 2026), a show that follows two families faced with the promise of a better life and the choice to move north during the civil rights movement of the 1960s.
- Nightsweat (June 20th – August 8th, 2026), a murder mystery comedy show that masterfully blends modern life with a classic genre in a show described as “Bridesmaids meets Friday the 13th.”
Season 11’s Productions
- Chicken and Biscuits (September 15th – October 24th, 2026), a show about Black joy, grief and healing, and a heavy family secret on the verge of being revealed at a family patriarch’s celebration of life.
- Fat Man’s (November 17th – December 19th, 2026), where the spark of an unlikely friendship teaches us about love, tattoos, and discovering the Godliness that lives inside all of us.
- Come From Away (February 2nd – March 20th, 2027), a musical based on the true story of the town of Gander, Newfoundland, which opened its homes to 7,000 diverted travelers immediately following the events of 9/11.
- Primary Trust (April 13th – May 15th, 2027), a story about the extraordinary possibilities inside each of us, and a moving exploration of trust, transformation, and courage.
- Xanadu (June 29th – August 14th, 2027), a jukebox musical comedy featuring hits like “Magic,” “Suddenly” and “I’m Alive,” and based on the hit 1980s cult film of the same name that explores Greek myth, forbidden romance, and roller disco.
