In this edition of Continuing the Dream, we visit the construction sites for the high school and K-8 schools in Middleton to watch the first buildings go up at The Villages Charter School campus. Part of an approximately 12-week process, it takes a team of skilled folks to do the heavy lifting, with mammoth 180-ton cranes and equipment that symbolize something big is taking place – literally. In all, 532 tilt walls will be assembled on site for the high school alone!
We caught up with Kevin Johnson, Commercial Construction Project Manager for The Villages, plus the Wharton-Smith construction group, who are building the high school, and the Clancy & Theys construction group, who are building the K-8 schools, to learn more about the vision and progress being made 24/7.
