After graduating from Auburn University in Computer Engineering, Tom embarked on a distinguished 32-year career with AT&T in research and development. He focused on building cellular, internet, and business services, accumulating 10 U.S. patents in telecommunications. In his later career, Tom received an MBA from Emory University Goizueta Business School and was appointed Vice President, overseeing large-scale digital transformations and complex big data projects utilizing machine learning, bias technologies, and AI systems.

With his wife Betsy, Tom pursued his lifelong dream of sailing the Caribbean. They sold their belongings and relocated to their new catamaran, where Tom obtained a US Coast Guard Master Captain license. With the help of a trusted first mate, they launched a successful luxury yacht charter business offering weeklong vacations of a lifetime to discerning travelers.

After a highly successful season, they visited family in The Villages and were drawn to its warm and welcoming community. They decided to trade in their catamaran for a home in The Village of Marsh Bend, where they quickly felt at home among the friendly residents and colleagues. Tom was inspired to help others achieve their retirement dreams, so he began working as a real estate representative in The Villages.

Tom is passionate about his work, describing his role as not selling but helping people achieve their retirement goals. He is proud to be associated with a company that prioritizes the happiness and well-being of its residents and employees. In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also a Villages representative, and their playful puppy, Henry Ford. Tom is an avid golfer but spends as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren.
