Shalyn is a 5th generation Floridian and a lifelong resident of Central Florida. Studying at the University of Central Florida and graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University, she is a published writer and was the owner/creative director of a very successful dance school for 15 years, providing love and service to the children of her community.

Proudly married for nearly 20 years to the love of her life, her “Barker” is a combat veteran who served in the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division. Together they have 3 inspiring children who are professional theatre actors in Orlando. Her eldest is also the valedictorian of her high school for 2022!

On a personal level, she loves to fish, host parties, and camp with her family in their travel trailer – especially at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground! In her spare time, Shalyn loves to create – props, art, costuming – you name it.

Shalyn’s parents are Villagers and her father, Mike Melfi, is also a Sales Representative with the Properties of The Villages.
