Mitzi Terry started working for The Villages Charter School in its inaugural year and then moved to Hometown Property Management in 2004. She became a Sales & Marketing Representative two years later in November of 2006.

Mitzi was born in Chicago close to the Great Lakes Naval Training Station, but she was raised as a child near Dallas, Texas through high school and college. Mitzi and her husband spent a short time in Madisonville, Kentucky before moving to Vero Beach, Florida in 1985. In 1991, the charm and family friendly nature of central Florida drew them to Wildwood where they have been ever since. At the time they didn’t know what The Villages was, or what impact it would have on their lives, but they were soon to learn. Mitzi often tells folks they were blessed to land in the right place at the right time.

Mitzi met her husband Lee in Irving, Texas at church and they married in 1985. Lee is an ordained minister, a former golf-pro, and worked as a sub-contractor and builder here in The Villages. Together they have three children, Lauren, Levi, and Luke. All three are graduates of The Villages Charter School. They love and appreciate the lifestyle that The Villages has meant to them, and they have had a long list of “notables” in their young lives as a result of being part of this unique hometown.

The Terry family loves being active in the community including church, sporting events and outdoor recreation. When time permits, they support the hometown team, The Villages Buffalo, as well as being big fans of the Florida Gators, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Rays, and Orlando Magic. They love all aspects of golf too. Music is also a great passion and over the years they have enjoyed being an active part in local theatre as well as traveling with lots of talented people, singing all over the country. Before coming to Properties of The Villages, Mitzi never really considered making real estate her chosen profession, but here it just seemed to come naturally. She feels that she has an active part in making dreams come true every day. Every time Mitzi meets a new client, she considers how she would want her own parents to be treated. Mitzi’s mom and dad first moved to The Villages when they were 80, even though she had been here 14 years before they finally arrived. She can relate to how The Villages changes lives for the better and it makes her want to share that experience with everyone she meets.

“I cannot express how wonderful it is to be a part of a company that operates like a family. In this organization we each fulfill a function that is unique, and the result of this collaborative effort is evident in the end result – a fully functioning hometown where dreams come true, not just for our residents, but every member of The Villages family both old and young alike. I can say with confidence that there is no place I would rather be, whether it was raising a family as in years gone by, or currently finding ourselves as ‘empty nesters.’ We are especially looking forward to the future enjoying this lifestyle that for the last years our family has been working hard to create for others. It will be the icing on the cake!
