John Northcott is a rare Florida native, born at the Naval Training station in Orlando, FL. His family moved to Leesburg when John was in the 3rd grade. John graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Education and taught Physical Education and coached for 10 years in Marion County.

John joined Properties of The Villages in 2011 as a Licensed Sales Representative and it could not have been a better fit! Since then, John has felt passionate about sharing The Villages and the unique Lifestyle it offers, including recreation centers, activities, amenities, and convenience that no other community can match. He enjoys being the first point of contact for someone considering The Villages for their retirement dream. John remembers what a big decision it was as he considered relocating to The Villages and his first visit impressions. John is passionate about working hard to help you uncover your dreams and achieve your goals for your next season in life.

John’s father retired from the Navy. He was captured on Corregidor, in the Philippines during World War II. He survived the Bataan Death March, 3 months on the bottom of a death ship being transported to Japan, followed by 43 more months of captivity. John’s mom was also in the Navy and served as a W.A.V.E. (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). John has five sisters older than him, 4 are nurses, and one is a teacher.

John and his wife Laurie Briggs have an incredible family, with 4 children, 3 sons and a daughter. Alongside John, his wife and business partner Laurie Briggs is also a Sales Representative with Properties of The Villages. Laurie brings additional experience to the team with nearly 18 years of making dreams come true. Together they work and live in The Villages.

In his spare time John likes to work out, go to the shooting range, and train at a boxing gym. John & Laurie enjoy visiting many of Florida’s beaches and taking international trips with friends. They also enjoy activities with their adult children, getting together on holidays, and going out to dinner or to the movies.
