Gary Raketich

Properties of The Villages

Gary was born and raised in Northwest Indiana, where he grew up surrounded by a large, close-knit family. From an early age, he learned the value of service while working at his grandparents’ restaurant — an experience that helped shape his lifelong appreciation for people and community.

Growing up in Schererville, IN, Gary spent much of his childhood playing sports with neighborhood friends before ultimately committing to competitive swimming in high school. He went on to attend the University of Louisville, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and was a proud four-year member of the Men’s Swim Team. After graduation, Gary decided to trade the cold Midwest winters for the sunshine of Florida, moving south in 2002.

In 2004, Gary met his wife, Julie — who is also a Sales Representative with The Villages — while living in Gainesville. The two married in 2008 and spent more than 14 years in Orlando before settling in Middleton, where they’ve proudly built their home and raised their two children, both of whom attend The Villages Charter School. Becoming part of this community was an opportunity they couldn’t pass up — and Middleton, along with VCS, has proven to be everything they hoped for and more. Gary and Julie feel truly blessed to call The Villages area home and to share in such a vibrant and caring community.

The Raketichs enjoy an active lifestyle filled with family time, sports, and community involvement. Gary brings a compassionate curiosity to every interaction and takes great joy in helping others discover and achieve their dreams. Grateful for the chance to serve those who have worked hard to realize their vision of The Villages lifestyle, he looks forward to building lasting friendships along the way.

He would be honored to help you experience and embrace this remarkable community — just as he and his family have.

Fun Fact: Gary has remained active in the swimming community by competing in the Frogman Swim Series, completing five events and raising over $20,000 for the Navy SEAL Foundation.
