Originally from a small town in northern New Jersey, Alissa has been a Florida resident since 1991. She moved to the sunshine state to attend college in Miami where she earned her bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Chemistry from Florida International University.

Being a teacher was not her original plan, but it quickly became her passion. Sharing her love for science at the high school and middle school level was where she spent the first 20 years of her career. Eventually, she decided to earn her Master’s degree and became a Dean of Students for 6 years.

Alissa is a firm believer in lifelong learning and in serving others. She feels so fortunate to have had the opportunity to help so many students and families throughout her career. She has witnessed the fruits of her labor in so many ways. Attending high school and even college graduations, weddings, baby showers and college sporting events of former students are just a few of the things that demonstrate that her life’s work was truly a gift.

Along with serving others, Alissa’s heart lies with her family. She is the mother to one son who attends Georgia Southern University. She is married to her husband of 22 years and enjoys spending time with him and her 2 dogs. Alissa feels blessed to be a part of The Villages where she is able to continue helping others and share in their joy while making their dreams come true.
