Dwane Dougherty was raised on a small farm in the panhandle of Oklahoma. One of 6 children, his father taught him the true meaning of integrity and hard work. He is a decorated veteran with 11 years of service in the US Army as a Military Police Officer and Military Police Investigator. He continued work in the investigative field after he was honorably discharged in 1997, leading a team of fraud investigators that specialized in deceptive Auto and Disability Insurance fraud schemes.

Dwane began visiting Florida’s Friendliest Hometown in 1994 when his in-laws became residents in The Village of Oak Meadows. During those visits he learned the history, values, and vision of the community, which lead him to move to Lady Lake in 2004. When Dwane was afforded the opportunity to join the Sales & Marketing Representative team for Properties of The Villages he knew it was a perfect match.

In his spare time Dwane enjoys fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Both Dwane and his wife Cassie (also a Military Veteran) are active in the community supporting various charities. Their daughter Kathryn, who graduated from The Villages Charter School in 2014, completed her Criminal Justice degree from UCF and is currently working for the City of Ocala as a 911 Operator. Dwane’s son, Tyler is also a Licensed Real Estate Professional for The Villages and his wife Danay works in The Villages Hiring and Team Support Department. Their kids, Caidence and Cannan, currently attend The Villages Charter School in Middleton and are active in many of the offered sports activities.

“My word is my bond” is the creed that Dwane lives by. He believes his integrity is the one thing that can never be taken away from him and strives to ensure that he honors that word in each aspect of his life.
