Like so many, Windi instantly fell in love with The Villages during her first Lifestyle Preview visit in 2020. More than just championship golf courses, custom golf cars, resort-style pools, pickleball, and live entertainment, The Villages became a lifestyle for Windi and her husband, Clay, a lifestyle that she sums up as “chicken soup for the soul.”

Born and raised in Virginia, Windi and Clay share a strong commitment to service and education. Clay served 12 years with the Virginia State Police and 26 years in the U.S. Army. Windi, a lifelong educator, spent over 20 years teaching middle school, high school, and higher education. During Clay’s three overseas deployments, Windi earned both a master’s and PhD in Career and Technical Education from Virginia Tech.

Their daughter, Kaila, lives in Virginia and works for FEMA, but she’s always excited to visit The Villages to play pickleball, enjoy live entertainment at the squares, and swim at the recreation centers. Kaila also loves spending time with her two “brothers,” DeeJay the Labradoodle and Bailee the Yorkie.

As an educator, lifelong learner, storyteller, and cheerleader for others, Windi’s core values are rooted in love, kindness, and a passion for living life fully. From cheerleading coach to family and consumer sciences teacher, from grad student to university professor, and now as a dedicated DreamMaker with Properties of The Villages, Windi has learned a lot about hard work and perseverance.
