Steve Lightbody has been working with Properties of The Villages for over eight years but has been visiting and enjoying this area for the past 20. Steve was born in Pennsylvania but spent his school years in Hollywood, Florida. He attended Florida State University and graduated with a degree in Social Work where he spent the next few years as a substance abuse counselor in Ocala, Florida. A growing family soon prompted Steve towards the automobile business where he learned to love sales and customer service. Finding success with both import and domestic brands, Steve soon discovered the value of loyalty to a brand and employer. Eventually he operated a new car dealership for an absentee owner for close to 30 years!Steve and his lovely wife of over 20 years, Barbara, work at Properties of The Villages together and enjoy working as a team. Together they have a son, Steve, who just recently graduated from The Villages Charter School. He is following the family tradition and attending Florida State University where he intends to study Economics and continue his love of music as a Marching Chief! They also have three grown daughters in Florida and 5 amazing grandchildren. Their eldest daughter, Dr. Jodie Armstrong, is a partner with Ocala Eye and practices in The Villages.In his spare time, Steve enjoys being on the water. Fishing and scalloping in the gulf, skiing, pulling the tube on the lake, or just riding and enjoying the day is number one when spent with family and friends. When time allows, he also loves to golf, play guitar, go for a bike ride, play pickle ball, and stay active with the family.
