Like many Villagers, Katie Czyzyk and her husband, Ken, fell in love with The Villages while on a Lifestyle Preview Plan stay in 2019. They purchased an investment property and prayed for the day they could move to The Villages. They returned to New Jersey where they both were working full-time. A few months later COVID hit, and they found themselves working from home and completely isolated. Ken suggested that they visit their investment property in The Villages and off they went.

Life was a dream come true in The Villages. Within a month Katie and Ken returned to New Jersey, packed up their belongings and moved to The Villages. Ken continues to work full time from home in The Villages. Katie left her job as a Community Manager in New Jersey and began working for The Villages.

Katie grew up in Levittown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Oral Robert’s University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Katie met her husband, Ken on a ski trip to Killington, Vermont and they were married a little over a year later. Katie and Ken raised their three daughters in a little town called Laurys Station, north of Allentown, Pennsylvania. Once their youngest daughter graduated from high school, they moved to Neptune, New Jersey to be closer to the Jersey shore. Their oldest daughter is married and lives with her husband outside of Cleveland, Ohio and their middle and youngest daughters live in Colorado.

Katie’s passion has been helping people in difficult situations. She began her career as a Medical Social Worker in a local hospital assisting her patients with discharge planning and case management. She was a stay-at-home mom for several years and later returned to Social Work as an Outreach Worker for pregnant and parenting teenage girls. She found herself helping young mothers stay in school, secure shelter, groceries, clothing, and daycare. Eventually, Katie pursued a career in Community Management where she managed several 55 and better communities. She enjoyed working with residents and board members to maintain a healthy and vibrant community. It has been Katie’s passion to help others, to find supportive services to enhance their life and help them live their best life.

Katie loves exploring all that The Villages has to offer and sharing those experiences with future Villagers. She is excited to serve future Villagers so they too can live their best life in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.
