Barbara Lightbody has been with Properties of The Villages since early 2013. Her career as a licensed real estate professional began in 2005 serving Ocala and the surrounding areas.Although Barbara does not technically call herself a ‘native Floridian’ she feels like one. Her family moved to Mount Dora when she was eight years old, and she has spent most of her life in Central Florida. The majority of her professional life has been spent in marketing and advertising. Barbara spent over 15 years in the television advertising field selling custom-tailored marketing plans and creating commercial scripts and campaigns. She retired in 2004 to stay home with her young son but soon realized that she missed working.Barbara has been married to Steve, also a licensed real estate professional for Properties of The Villages, for over 20 years. Together they have one great son who currently attends Florida State University where he intends to study Economics and is continuing his love for music as a member of their marching band, The Marching Chiefs. They also have three grown daughters, three sons in law, and 5 grandchildren whom all live in Florida. They also stay busy with one very energetic Goldendoodle, Tanner.Their family loves to spend free time on the water boating and fishing. They also enjoy dining out together, playing games, and going to the movies.Barbara has had the pleasure of working with many wonderful customers and has received letters from many of them thanking her for her hard work, diligence and kindness.
