Chris Kent has been “on the road” since he was an infant. With his father being in the Army and the construction industry, he spent most of his younger years traveling. Chris was born in Germany, and then moved to Florida, Texas, California, back to Texas, and again back to Florida. He’s called Florida his home since 1986. He equates his ability to meet new people and exploring new opportunities to the fact that he’s always had to!

After high school, Chris attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, where he earned his degree in Human Development. He was also a student athlete, playing 4 years on the baseball team. It was during these years he was able to travel and play summer baseball in Newport, Rhode Island. In his last season there he was awarded the Sunset League MVP, played on the All Star team, and had the opportunity to play baseball at Fenway in Boston. After graduating, he was able to continue his baseball career, playing two seasons of professional baseball in the newly formed Northeast League.

When he was done playing baseball, Chris decided to put his degree to work, and accepted a position with a mental health facility in St. Petersburg. After two years of helping others, he had the opportunity to get into sales, which is where he knew he belonged. His sales career included the sporting goods industry, manufacturing, software, personal lines insurance, and higher education.

In between his sales career he was fortunate enough to meet his wife, Melissa. They’ve been married since 2000, and have three wonderful children – Connor, Abigail, and Ava. Along with the family of 5 also come the pets – dogs, cats, fish, chickens, a gerbil, a tarantula, and 2 rescued squirrels that live in the forest behind their home! Chris and Melissa took the education of their children seriously, which is why they’ve always homeschooled. Melissa does most of the homeschooling, while Chris is away at “work.” They’ve enjoyed sticking to their motto of “Learning should be fun.”

Chris is passionate about his family, being a part of The Villages® family, and helping his customers find the perfect Florida Retirement home! When Chris is not helping clients with the buying and selling of their homes; you can find him and his family at the beach surfing, relaxing, and enjoying the salty breeze.
