Born in the Sunshine State in Daytona, FL, and raised in the small town of Allegany, New York, returning to Florida was always a dream that lived in Sarah’s heart.
Western New York will always hold a special place in her life, with memories of family hikes through the woods, cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and the close-knit community that helped shape who she is today. But from a young age, she knew she wanted to someday call Florida home.
That dream first began to take shape when Sarah accepted a summer internship with The Villages while earning her Marketing & Communications degree in Erie, PA. What started as an internship quickly became so much more. “I was surrounded by people who genuinely loved where they lived, and the happiness was just contagious,” Sarah shares.
After graduating from college, Sarah eagerly accepted a marketing position with The Villages Entertainment, where she became an integral part of a team that helps bring The Villages lifestyle to life.
Her then-boyfriend, now husband, Bailey Higby, joined Sarah that summer to help her move in, and it didn’t take long before he decided he would be staying, too. Shortly thereafter, Bailey became a Sales Representative with Properties of The Villages.
After six dedicated years of helping create the memorable experiences that make this community so special, Sarah realized she wanted to play an even bigger role in helping people discover everything The Villages has to offer. Watching Bailey connect with people and help turn their dream of living in The Villages into a reality inspired her to take the next step and become a Sales Representative with Properties of The Villages herself.
Sarah and Bailey now call Middleton home, where they’ve embraced the sense of community that first drew them to The Villages. On any given day, you’ll find Sarah out for a run along the neighborhood pathways, trying a new recipe in the kitchen, or soaking up the last moments of a Florida sunset on the lanai with their pup, Maddie May.
Sarah believes every move begins with a story. She is dedicated to taking the time to listen, understand what matters most, and walk alongside those she works with. Her hope is that each person finds not just the right place to call home, but the same sense of warmth, happiness and community that captured her heart in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown
